After the cast came off...

Savannah's helmet doesn't quite fit as well as it should...we're are going shopping for a replacement soon!!!

Sadie, cast off, raring to go with the tricycle.

Sadie and Savannah enjoying their time on the bikes.

Sadie likes the tricycle...she goes much faster and is more stable.

Savannah is getting the hang of it now, but still has some anxieties over doing it all by herself. She loves to spend time with the bikes, but usually ends up walking along with them, instead of riding...she's still only 2 1/2 though. (c:

More Cast off pics...

The sticker migrated to Savannah's face very quickly.

Sadie found Jeff's rolling chair to be very fun...

SO fun that she was rolling from one side of the room to the other very quickly and easily. Needless to say, when the doctor observed that, he wasn't surprised about the fracture, just that she actually healed enough depite her activity level. Jeff was surprised the 2nd cast held up as well as it did.
Diagnosis is that she doesn't need another cast, BUT she needs to take it easy for the next 4 weeks...NO trampolines or any jumping or running or scooters, etc. Let's see how well we can keep her down. (c:

SD's Cast Comes Off!!!

SD had her cast cut off just 2 days after her birthday. She was a champ!!

SV, however, has a HUGE aversion to loud noises and weird instruments, so she hid as soon as the saw came out.

It's almost off...

It's off, so let's go wash our hands...she walked a little funny.

SV received a sticker for being good too. She promptly stuck it on her back...not quite sure why. Notice SV in the background with the cast guy washing her hands.

Even later on SD's Birthday...

One of the safest, non-strenuos things I could think of was riding the carousel at the mall for SD's birthday. So, after T's party, we went to the mall and rode it twice. SD, for obvious reasons, was drawn to the purple ostrich.
The carousel operator was nice enough to take our pictures.

With this picture, at least I could hide my tummy behind the horse. (c: R came to ride with us because I get VERY sick from the circular motion...and I got camera duty.

R and SV really enjoyed themselves.

On the second time, the girls rode right next to each other instead of the opposite side, so pictures were tricky. I caught John off guard a bit.

Later on SD's Birthday...

We went to a pool party for a friend of ours, but SD still had her cast on. She was a good sport, even though she couldn't swim.

It didn't stop SV and J though...they had a blast.

SD tried hard not to get into trouble (walking around the pool area proved to aid in the destruction of the cast)...but hey, only 2 more days and then we're done.

This is T, the birthday boy (actually his birthday is tomorrow, but we're LDS, we have to party on Saturday).

T let SD blow out the candle though, since it was her actual birthday. How super nice of him. GREAT CAKE!!

SD has a birthday...

SD received a package from Gramma and Grampa for her birthday. Inside was a Lite-Brite...She and Daddy played for a long time.

SD had her birthday today.
She was so excited she could hardly wait to open her cards and packages.

Gramma and Grampa have a tradition that they send a special present for the other children in the family whose birthday is a different day.

Gramma and Grampa also sent lots of yummy Scooby Snacks.

This is the special card from Great Grandma B that SD reads over and over EVERY day. It is very sweet.

Stake Pioneer Day Celebration

Our stake hosted a Pioneer Day Celebration and we thought, hey, this reminds us of Utah, we should go. It started at 5pm (which here has been super hot) and went until dusk. The Primary children were supposed to dress up and have a short parade around to show off the costumes, WELL, right before this was supposed to begin, SD had to go to the bathroom. A YW in our ward, R, took her and I had camera duty. SD made it back just in time to see it end, but she wasn't as disappointed as I thought she would be. Thank goodness! Because it was so hot, we stripped the girls down and put on lighter dresses...I don't know how the pioneers did it all!? Anyway, we enjoyed a few crafts (handkerchief dolls, bonnet/vest decorating) and the dessert table! They had sooooo many choices of wonderful pies, cobblers and others that we had to sample a few. SV began to get grumpy, so we had to jet out early, but all in all, it was a fun time.

Pretty Ladies...

The girls wanted to take pictures in their church dresses again. J doesn't mind it at all...he really enjoys the self-portraits. SV just started to laugh when Daddy asked her to smile...hence, the funny foot position and HUGE grin.

New Cast...

After about a week of her purple cast, SD had obliterated (okay, well this is an exaggeration), but it was coming apart. I had to take her downtown to the orthopedist for a cast check. After laughing about how long she was in it, they cut it off and took more x-rays. The doctor decided to recast her since she was so active. OH WELL!! They reinforced it AND gave her a little shoe thing.

When she was choosing the color she wanted (I was very surprised that she didn't pick purple again), she was leaning toward lime green. I noticed that they had a light blue (which is the same color our YW President chose for hers) and told her that she could be twinners with T. Her face lit up and she grabbed one from the box.

SD, SD, SD

Our latest news...SD has a fracture in her tibia. While I was at girls camp for our church, SD was jumping on the trampoline. She fell weird and complained for 5 days when John took her into the Urgent care (Saturday, the day I came home). The doctor couldn't see anything, but he wasn't a radiologist. The radiologist looked at it on Tuesday morning and they called me to send me to the orthopedist. Anyway, she now has a cast and will until at least August 7th...so much for the swimming party for her 4th birthday July 28th.
