Girlie Girls and nail polish

SD is a girlie girl...almost every day she ask me to paint her fingernails. I only give in once every couple of weeks though. Any time that we go somewhere, she always asks other people to paint her fingernails. R has a soft spot for SD and it wasn't too hard to convince her to do it.

BRIGHT PINK was the choice of the day.

Then SV woke up from her nap...and it was all over, of course she wanted hers done too.

SD even convinced R to let her paint her nails...a nice DARK PURPLE none the less.

These have been touched up a little, but all in all, I was very impressed with SD and her nail painting skills.

Backyard Fun with Friends

SV and M were taking turns pushing each other around. They were very short turns, but apparently fun enough, I guess. Mind you, M is almost a head shorter and 7-8 lbs less probably.

SV LOVED riding around in R's car.

SV preferred to drive too. It was nice to see the girls getting along so nicely at this time...which didn't always happen. What can you expect from two girls that are just 8 weeks apart?

R let SV use his shades. She was pretty stylin'.

We are ready for our close-ups Mr. Deville.

Blowing Bubbles with SD

While we were away, SD learned how to do 2 new things...
#1 - blowing bubbles with her gum (she asks me most days to practice)
#2 - how to tie a bow...I didn't get pictures of this one.
I went to a Women's Expo while there and came home with a book that has about 7 different things to tie a bow in. After only a couple of sessions with that book, she now ties shoes. Too bad I don't have any tie shoe for her. We'll have to get some next time she needs shoes...which won't be too long. She's rapidly out growing the cute purple ones she has now.

Quickie Visit

While we were in away, Auntie M and Uncle R stopped for a super quick visit.
This is the first time that M met SC.

SV and SD wanted some attention to, which M willing gave.

We captured this cheesy grin combo on film. YES!

Good 'til the last drop...April 30th

SV is pretty serious about her treats.

She has to get every last drop.

She graciously shares with her face and clothes most of the time...

...but who could resist this sweet smile.

SD's shoot

One late April day, SD wanted to use the camera. These are a few of the shots she took:

She had a few of these self-portraits...she must get it from her dad's side of the family, because they are FAMOUS for taking self-portraits. Not too bad for a child her age.

Marriage tag...the truth tells

I decided that I should try to catch up with family blogs and found I was tagged. As if I wasn't behind enough with my blogging (LOL!! It's all good!), my sweet cousin Alayne tagged me with this:

How long have you been married? 10 years, 4 mo, ? days
How old is your spouse? older than me by 5 1/2 yrs
Who eats more? J...at least S hopes (c:
Who said I love you first? hmmmm...it's been too long to remember...
Who is taller? J
Who sings better? S, but J holds his own (c:
Who is smarter? We both graduated from college/university
Who controls the T.V. remote? Whoever gets it first...volume, S
Whose temper is worse? S's, but working on it
Who does the laundry? S does all but J's...because he is out of state...J usually helps fold and put it away though
Who does the dishes? S does most now, but J used to unload the dishwasher ALL the time (c:
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? J
Who cooks dinner? S, unless we are grilling or doing something with pasta (J does noodles)
Who is more stubborn? S, another thing in the works
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? We are pretty equally wrong, although we both don't really like to admit it.
Whose parents do you see the most? S's...for now )c:
Who has more friends? We have a lot of couple friends
Who has more siblings? J by one sweet sister-in-law
Who wears the pants in the family? Depends on what the subject at hand is...we are each passionate about different things

Should I actually tag someone else? How about Angela/Dave and Becky/Derick?
Hope to hear about you soon!

SD's Dressing habits and SV's Hairclips

We have but a few simple rules for our girls regarding their clothing...
Rule #1 - If it's less than 70 degrees, you have to wear pants.
Rule #2 - If we are going out in public, Mommy gets to choose either pants or shirt
(the opposite of what they choose).
Rule #3 - If we are staying in, WHO CARES???!?
Here SD is with an interesting shirt combo.

Mealtime rules include:
#1 - Bibs until you are 4 years old...to minimize the spot/stain removal.
#2 - Each child MUST have a device to restrain the hair...to minimize hair in food/food in hair.

SV's choice of hair restraint this fine April 29th.

Bad shot of SVs face...no she doesn't look like that, but you can see how many hairclips she put in her hair. I should have figured that something was up when she spent more time than usual in the bathroom.

Friends to visit...April 24th

Our super fun friend M came to visit and the girls loved playing with her glasses.

Tickle Time!!
Just an odd shot playing in the backyard.

Oops...April 23rd

I guess that I got busy doing things and SC fell asleep on her playmat...again.

Where we were...

Well, on a whim, I decided that we needed to visit J, since he had been gone for a couple of weeks. Actually, I was running away from my house that I need to sort and pack for 2 whole weeks. Either way, I think it was a spectacular reason to get away. I dumped my camera tonight and hopefully will add some great pictures and posts tomorrow. YEAH!!
