Playing guitar with Opa

Before the girls go to sleep at Oma & Opa's, we have the usual wind down time. Opa busts out his guitar on most occasions...usually including "Grandma's Feather Bed." A typical night starts like this with both girls trying to play and Opa playing referee.

...everyone getting along.

SV seems to be leaning away a little bit.

SV sat down to quietly observe.

Oops, there she went.

...giggling on the floor.

Hanging out at Oma & Opa's...

Sitting on the couch...

SV was accessorizing Opa.

He returned the favor.

SD playing with Uncle K's old record player.

SC chilling out in her chair.

Random...

I did not take this picture...and am kinda glad I was not there to witness this. I don't normally leave SD & SV alone with SC, so I don't know when this was.

SC & our friend M were being cute.

Look at the cheesy grin.

Funny look...need I say more?

Oops, again.

I was trying to get some things done the other day, when I realized that I hadn't heard SC in a while. Of course, when a mom hears silence, that's when she gets concerned...so I went to check.

Not to worry, she was still in her Jumperoo, pretty content...chewing on the seat, right?

Smelling the seat, right?

Nope, she was fast asleep. I promise that I wasn't busy THAT long. (c:

The Ward Campout...

Our accomodations...brought to you by some fantastic friends.

The early morning baby-sitter...he's doing a great job, huh? It was all I could ask for, well, except more sleep. The older girls got up before 6am because the sun started coming out. No, I didn't want to be up because I am not a morning person, but someone had to watch SD & SV.

The girls wanted to help with making breakfast, so here they are trying not to get into things.

This is our bishop...and how he cooks eggs in dutch ovens...yes, that is a flame thrower.

SD's job was to put potatoes in the pot so the bishop's wife could peel them and cut them up. She was very proud of the heart shaped one she found. She showed it to EVERYONE!

One of the many helpers for SC.

Did I mention rope swing?

They both really enjoyed the rope...when they weren't fighting over it.

Another AWESOME helper for SC!!

In the trailer before breakfast...this is when I realized that SD's shoes are too small. She was complaining about how they were rubbing on her heels. I figured it was because she has chosen to live in flip-flops for a while and wasn't used to tennis shoes. I was wrong...and realized that her tennis shoes were over a year old. HELLO!! She's still growing and we all know that kids feet grow pretty fast. I can't believe I didn't notice. Since then, we have gotten her "tie" shoes. She wanted them, I still end up tying them...not cool. We need to practice more. (c:

SC's first solids...

Oh the wonderful faces babies make when you give them something different than what they are used to. SC had some rice cereal (with formula) and did not find it appealing, obviously. The next time I tried it mixed with a little applesauce...homemade from granny smith...the shudders she had were hilarious. (c: She is enjoying some foods a little better now though thanks to the fresh apricots at Oma & Opa's house.

Celebrating a new baby...early June

No, we didn't have another one, but funny that SC isn't in any of these pictures. Anyway, when we were away for our family reunion, we stayed with our friends...AGAIN. Wait, J lives there right now, so I guess just the girls and I stayed. My friend E had her baby just days before we arrived and of course SD and SV wanted to hold her. Also, another friend (and her hubby and son) came over too...he's the cute blonde in yellow/blue...she brought me a fun sling to use with SC. Thanks M! The kids all decided to get on the computer chair, possibly to annoy R, but he complied with some persuasion.

New baby boy...

Not him...

happy mom (friend E)...

Baby T!

Sometime in May...

We have a friend who's mom stayed at a local hotel and invited us to swim with them. The girls LOVE to get into the pool and this was their first time this year. Thanks for the swimsuits Auntie L and Gramma!

Bedclothes...RANT...beware...

I don't really enjoy doing laundry OR folding it OR making beds. I do it, well, because it needs to get done. HOWEVER, when I have to strip a bed/wash the sheets (including waterproof mattress pad)/remake the bed 4 times (for sure, maybe even 5...I lost count)in one week due to accidents, I am really LOATHING laundry. SV has been fine for a while, BUT now just seems to sleep too hard during the day. She still wears diapers at night, but has just been wearing underwear for naps for months. GOOD GRIEF!

I don't like to make beds...this reaffirms it. Maybe I should start enjoying it, then the accidents will go away...right??

I am a family camper...

...a camper I'll always be...and if I weren't a camper...

For those of you who know this little ditty/skit, SD and SV have been singing this from the reunion ALL morning. I think that SD has actually remembered most of the parts. This is what I have heard from her:

Truckdriver...Swerve, Wow! I think I had a cow. hit
Busdriver...Shut up Kid! Shut up Kid! I'm warning you...SMACK! (we had a talk about this one...SD's rebuttal was, "it was K's (our cousin) part," but she got it right)
Girl Scout...Get a cookie! Sell a cookie! Get one free! Buy
Milkman...Betsy give...the baby's gonna live. gotta
Hairstyler...A sip, A flair...Oh gee I love your hair! snip
Boxer...A slam, a cut, I'll slug him in the gut! jab
Electrician...First plug, other plug...put 'em together, AHH! right, left
Plumber...Plunge it, Flush it...Look out below! (correct)
Roswell Farmer...A heave, a hoe...another UFO! (correct)
Birdwatcher...A hark, a lark...flyin' through the park! SPLAT! (not there)

The red is incorrect, the blue is the correction. I am impressed that she remembered so much.

It was extremely funny the first few times...after the 50th or so, it's actually getting kind of annoying. THANK YOU BONNIE!!
